Welcome to the website of the Clarendon High School for Girls.
I hope that you will enjoy your “virtual visit” to our school and that from your visit, you will gain a sense of the history, tradition and ethos of our school.
During your visit you will be able to investigate the school and hostel admission procedures, gain an understanding of the school curriculum, learn of the school’s phenomenal academic and co-curricular successes, but most importantly, I hope the intangible “spirit of the school” will radiate from the images on your computer screen.
Our mission is to provide a happy and caring environment in which each girl is encouraged and supported to reach her full potential. We view the development of character, leadership and service to others, as important as high levels of achievement in academic, sporting and cultural activities.
When I hear our girls sing,
“We are pilgrims on a journey,
We are sisters on the road;
We are here to help each other
Walk the mile and bear the load
I will weep when you are weeping,
When you laugh, I’ll laugh with you;
I will share your joy and sorrow
Till we’ve seen this journey through.”
I am always reminded of how the Clarendon sisterhood has been built, sustained and promoted by successive generations of Clarendon girls from 1903 to the present day.
I look forward to welcoming you to Clarendon as an “Old Girl”, a new pupil or as a parent.
Yours sincerely
Owen Nel
