The1st tennis team consisting of Joanna Nel, Lisa-Marie Coetzee, Sarah Ive, Kelly Nel, Jessica Pollock, Kristin Arthur and Tayla Collett took part in the prestigious Amanda Coetzer Tennis Tournament which was hosted by Hoërskool Oranje, Bloemfontein. The top 8 tennis playing schools from around the country are invited to this tournament. In 2009 Clarendon won bronze medals, losing to Oranje in the seimi-finals. This year we again came up against Hoërskool Oranje in the semi-finals. After the singles, the teams were 3 -3, so whichever team won 2 of the 3 doubles matches would go through to the finals. 4 very tense girls went onto the courts (Kelly Nel, Jessica Pollock, Kristin Arthur and Tayla) knowing that the outcome rested on their shoulders. After extremely exciting tennis, both teams were victorious amd we were through to the finals. We, unfortunately, lost to Hoërskool Stellenbosch. Well done to the girls!
